Recklinghausen/ Germany – March 21st, 2013 (ictw) - Kemper Amps and Keith Merrow announce the immediate availability of the Keith Merrow signature Rig Pack for the Kemper Profiler. Keith is a studio musician, guitar player, songwriter, producer, engineer, gear demonstrator, teacher, tech consultant for Seymour Duncan guitar pickups, and above all else: a tone enthusiast! He loves high gain amps and bone-crushing metal tones. The Kemper profiles he has created for this Rig Pack are engineered in his studio, and are exact copies of tones that he uses on a regular basis for recordings, reamping, YouTube videos, and more.
Additionally Keith has visited his good friend Jeff Loomis and used the opportunity to also profile Jeff’s amp setup. This consisted of Jeff's 5150III amp using the Torpedo Speaker Simulator. There were no mic or cabs involved in that profile. They were was originally going to setup up mics and a cab, but didn't have much time. Keith says that profiling with the Torpedo is so quick and easy (and sounds great!). They used believe we used the Engl 4x12/SM57 cab/ mic simulation.

Recklinghausen/ Germany – Feb. 1st, 2013 - Kemper Amps released the new software version 1.6, which does support all Profiler models, and introduce a lot of new features and enhancements. At the same time a new Rig Pack focused on effects demonstration plus some rigs based on special preamplifiers for acoustic guitar got released.
A new Ducking parameter has been added for many modulation, delay, and reverb effects. The Ducking control allows you to intensify or suppress ("duck") an effect just by the dynamics of your playing. Rig Pack 04 does include application examples of Ducking and other effects. OS 1.6 does also include new effect types Phaser Vibe, Phaser Oneway and Flanger Oneway.
With the new Aux-In users can mix in music from any external device like for example smartphone and play along. The factory presets for effects, amplifiers, cabinets, and stack have been compeletely revised and complemented. Rigs can now be exported or erased based on various criteria in order to rationalize rig management.
The Amp Factory Rig Pack is now already embedded in this software.

In the press release about the Kemper Profiler PowerHead is mentioned that: “Owners of the original Kemper Profiler will be able to purchase the Amp Upgrade for a price TBA. It is required to send the Profiler to he manufacturer to install the amp safely!“
The detailed process yet has to be defined. This will happen when the Powered Profilers start shipping. Then distributors, dealers and customers will be informed in detail. This is due to the various regulations for the territories when it comes to electrical devices.

The Kemper Profiler PowerHead adds a built in 600 Watt power amp to the Kemper Profiler concept and turns the former recording solution into the most versatile guitar amplification system ever. Utilizing the Kemper CabDriver mode, guitarists now have the choice of playing through regular guitar cabinets or full range monitor systems. This makes the Kemper Profiler PowerHead the complete solution for the studio, the rehearsal room and the stage.
The 600 Watts Class D amplifier is carefully selected for the guitar amplification system to guarantee utmost performance. After extensive listening tests, a lot of measuring and looking thoroughly at the typical sonic behavior of power amps for guitar amplification on the market it became clear that only the best components are capable of delivering impressive results.
Many touring musicians have been consulted and now the PowerHead is ready to rumble at the NAMM Show. Visitors can play the Amp at the booth in conjunction with a choice of Cabinets: A classic 4 x 12” standard guitar cabinet, a 1 x 12” guitar cabinet, and a selection of full range solutions. Andy Hodgson’s The Amp Factory was born under the influence of Kemper’s unique invention “the profiling” amp. Being a guitar player and also a sound engineer with a vast collection of amps to my name, Andy for one saw this as an interesting approach towards using his own amps in the studio to save time and effort in the tracking stages of clients and of course himself and his band 45 Degrees.
After the learning curve and the support that the community had to offer he was driven to new heights capturing the sonic soul of more amps. As a result the Amp Factory was registered as a Business and now Andy focuses on delivering the best amp sounds that are around and he can get his hands on and facilitate everybody in the best he can.

Recklinghausen/ Germany – Nov. 2nd, 2012 (ictw) - Kemper Amps released the new version 1.5 for the Kemper Profiling Amplifier with the brand new CabDriver as one of the key features in Version 1.5.
The Profiling Amp was originally designed to faithfully recreate the sound of a tube amplifier, the corresponding cabinet and the microphone in front of it. For recording or stage PA situations, this is the perfect solution for getting the full guitar amp sound reproduced. But the Profiler still needed a solution for playing through a standard guitar cabinet. The CabDriver feature now allows for doing exactly that! CabDriver retains the tube power amp characteristics and speaker action of the original amp, which is coded in the profile, and translates it perfectly to the speaker cabinet. No additional tweaking of the sounds required!
To get the perfect "amp in the room" sound on stage or in the rehearsal room, simply amplify the signal from the Profilers monitor output with any neutral solid-state power amp into a standard guitar cabinet. And now for the nifty bit: you can run the full profile to the main PA of the venue while simultaneously "cabdriving" your guitar speaker cabinet for monitoring on stage.
This makes the Kemper Profiling Amp the perfect all in one sound solution for any guitar player that travels from the rehearsal room to the studio and to the stage.
Also new in Version 1.5 is a convenient new method to load amps, cabs or stacks from any other rig into the rig that is actually loaded. When browsing in the cabinet section you can now choose to scroll through all the other rigs and pick the cabinet included in those. Following the same principle you can also select an amp or complete stack from any rig. That makes it easy to combine amplifier profiles with cabinet profiles.
